Donating to us

Have a look at the Donate section on this site for information on different ways to give. These include by post or online, setting up a direct debit, leaving a gift in your will and taking part in the payroll giving scheme at work.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of a loved one, please send it to PC David Rathband’s Blue Lamp Foundation, 3 Front Street, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Northumberland, NE64 6NU . Please include a brief covering letter explaining whose memory you are making your gift, plus details of the people you would like to receive an acknowledgement. You can also set up a In Memoriam donation page in under 2 minutes using JustGiving. Your family and friends could then visit the page to make a contribution and leave messages.

If you would like to leave a legacy in your Will to PC David Rathband’s Blue Lamp Foundation, we suggest you to contact a solicitor for help and advise. You can search for one in your area through the Law Society. An alternative method of arranging your legacy would be to contact a professional Will writer. The Institute of Professional Will Writers is one of the bodies that can help you.

Under the Government’s Gift Aid scheme, we can claim the basic rate tax paid on donations made by UK taxpayers. This means that if you are a UK taxpayer, your donation could be worth at least 25% more, at no extra cost to you. For example, if you give £10, and you Gift Aid your donation, HM Revenue and Customs will add at least £2.50, bringing the total donation to at least £12.50

All of our donations made online go through JustGiving, whose systems are encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates from VeriSign. None of your information is ever passed unencrypted in a web browser to JustGiving. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing you enter as part of a secure transaction can be examined, used or modified by any third party attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

We are extremely grateful for all of the donations we receive, however big or small. Every penny you give really does make a difference. However, we only acknowledge individual donations of £10 or over. This is to save on administration costs and to cut the time it would take to respond to all of the donations we receive. We aim to acknowledge all donations within 14 days of receiving them. However, during busy periods this may take longer.

Fundraising

If you would like any more information, have a query about fundraising, or would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Please call us on 0871 2345 999.

Our fundraisers will wear a t-shirt with our branding on as minimum, however if they are not wearing one they will be carrying an identity badge to verify who they are and confirm that they have permission to fundraise for us. If you are ever in doubt or have concerns about a fundraiser’s conduct, please call us on 0871 2345 999 or email info@bluelampfoundation.org.

As we don’t rely on any government funding for our work, we rely on the generosity and commitment of the public to help us keep helping the injured Emergency Service personnel. Our supporters raise funds for us in many different ways and every penny is crucial if we are to achieve our goals. Take a look around our website to see what we raise and how we spend it.

We have carried out this type of fundraising in the past and are always looking for opportunities to do more, however we do not currently have any planned.
