Marathon first for Laura

A Police Constable from the British Transport Police is the latest member of the emergency services to show their support for the Blue Lamp Foundation by taking on a personal challenge to raise funds.

Laura Burrows, pictured here in a recent half marathon, is well underway with her training for this year’s Brighton Marathon which takes place on Sunday 9th April.

Laura said: “As a serving Police Officer this charity is close to my heart. I can genuinely see the need for this and I want to do everything I can to help raise more much needed money to assist those in need injured protecting and serving the public.

“This is my first marathon, I’m so excited! Training is going well and I completed a half marathon last Sunday which went really well! It’s hard fitting it all in around my 3 and 4-year-old girls and working but I’m getting there! Money is coming in thick and fast and I’ve already hit my target and hoping to double it!”

Laura is hoping to raise as much money as she can for the Foundation.  You can help her by pledging a donation on her JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/Lauraburrows1213
